The outer shell of the ROboMobil is made from carbon fiber reinforced plastics and covers the front and rear axle modules. It seamlessly connects to the monocoque driver cabin and houses the front and back lighting. The design suites the DLR corporate identity coloring scheme for robotic applications. The outer body also has several air inlets for cooling and cone-shaped notches for six cameras.
