The final Sky-Hook/Ground-Hook (SH/GH) vertical dynamics controller was tested in a measuring campaign at DEKRA near EuroSpeedway Lausitz. This controller represents a good compromise between road-holding and ride comfort by providing simultaneously a sufficient tire to road contact and a good isolation of the vehicle body from road excitation. Therefore, custom designed obstacles were screwed in place on an access road of the testing facility. The traversable obstacles were made of square bar steel and special shaped ply-wood boards coated with a sheet of stainless steel. The SH/GH controller was finetuned and tested against setups with varying constant damper currents, simulating different passive suspensions.
